PROJECT SUMMARY
The project aims to meet the objective of the ADER 2019-2022 sectoral plan, to develop the agri-food sector for the marketing of products in order to ensure the food security of the population.
The domestic market is invaded by imported products, which, although competitive in price, most often have a lower quality than domestic products. Given the consumer trend towards healthy products, in this context there is a need to study the market in order to meet the growing demands of consumers.
The project was structured in such a way as to provide a realistic picture of the market for basic agri-food products: vegetables, fruits, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, eggs, honey, bakery products, with an emphasis on sizing Romania’s agri-food potential, valorizing agri-food production, as well as consumers’ opinions on agri-food products marketed on the Romanian market.
The implementation of this project can contribute to improving future agricultural policies for the marketing of agri-food products in order to ensure the food safety and security of the population.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
Phase 1: Studies on the particularities of the supply chain for the main basic agri-food products marketed on the Romanian market.
Phase 2: Diagnosis of the vegetable-fruit and bakery product supply chains in order to substantiate decisions regarding the marketing of these products and ensuring the food safety and security of the population.
Phase 3: Diagnosis of the milk and dairy products and egg supply chains in order to substantiate decisions regarding the marketing of these products and ensure the food security and safety of the population.
PHASE 4: Diagnosis of the meat and meat products and honey supply chains in order to substantiate decisions regarding the marketing of these products and ensure the food security and safety of the population.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
General objective:
Detailed market analysis for the main basic agri-food products: vegetables, fruits, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, eggs, honey, bakery products, in order to substantiate decisions regarding the marketing of these products on the market.

Specific objectives:
Studies and analyses regarding: the demand and supply of agri-food products, the cost of production and the market price, the consumer opinion regarding the country of origin/provenance of agri-food products, the factors that influence the domestic and foreign market of products, in order to substantiate decisions regarding agricultural policies.

EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT
The achievement of the objectives proposed by the project will result in studies, which will reflect the real state of the commercialization of agri-food products on the Romanian market, which will include information regarding: the demand and supply of agri-food products, the market price, consumption, import and export of agri-food products, the dimensioning of the agri-food potential, the quality of agri-food products, as well as the opinions, needs and desires of final consumers.

HOW TO APPLY/USE THE RESULTS
The results of the studies will be made available to agricultural producers and economic operators on the market, research and development units in the field, interested parties and will constitute a source of information in the field of production, processing and marketing of agri-food products.
By applying the results, the project can contribute to: expanding the range of products, promoting local products; rationalizing production costs, through a balanced use of resources; increasing product competitiveness; substantiating policies for the marketing of agri-food products, etc.
The results obtained are disseminated through: developing a project WEB page, developing and publishing articles in specialized magazines, participating in conferences, symposia, etc.
