The Research Institute for Agricultural Economics and Rural Development conducts scientific research in the field of agricultural economics and rural development on:

  • economic valuation of agricultural resources – farm management;
  • technical and economic foundations of production technologies, economic optimisation and profitability of agricultural production;
  • the foundation of systems and mechanisms for the functioning of the agricultural and agri-food products market in Romania – agricultural marketing;
  • technical-economic foundations for the organisation of agricultural holdings of optimal size;
  • economic and financial analyses at farm level;
  • analysis of the main agricultural product supply chains; quality management in the agricultural product supply chain;
  • socio-economic dimensions of sustainable development of rural communities based on surveys, studies and analyses;
  • studies on the development and modernisation of agriculture under market economy conditions and in line with EU requirements;
  • extension activities to disseminate research results.
