The Gender Equality Strategy (GES) for 2023-2025 was developed by the RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT on the basis of input from the Working Group set up to develop it, taking into account both research and administrative staff.
The ESG was built on the provisions of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, 2015-2019, the European Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025 and the Horizon Europe guidelines on gender equality plans.
The rationale for the development of the ESG is to ensure that the ICEADR is a safe place for all employees and that the activities taking place respect the principles of equality, diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination.
Based on the SEG, ICEADR has developed the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) for 2023-2025, with concrete actions and measures, as well as indicators to measure the progress of its implementation and revisions.
The implementation of the GES and the PEG in the RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT ensures and promotes equality and diversity of knowledge and skills acquisition for all employees. The ESG objectives are implemented through specific actions aimed at safeguarding an equal and inclusive organisational culture and promoting gender equality at all levels. As such, the SEG and PEG will proactively enable increased awareness of gender equality, skills and competences, gender balance in decision-making structures and processes, including recruitment, gender equality in research and gender mainstreaming throughout the research process.
