PROJECT SUMMARY The project aims to meet the objective of the ADER 2019-2022 sectoral plan, to develop the agri-food sector for the marketing of products in order to ensure the food security of the population. The domestic market is invaded by imported products, which, although competitive in price, most often have an inferior quality to domestic products. Given the consumer trend towards healthy products, in this context the need to study the market is required, in order to meet the growing demands of consumers. The project was structured in such a way as to provide the most realistic picture possible of the basic agri-food market: vegetables, fruits, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, eggs, honey, bakery products, with an emphasis on sizing Romania’s agri-food potential, valorizing agri-food production, as well as consumers’ opinion on agri-food products marketed on the Romanian market. The implementation of this project can contribute to the improvement of future agricultural policies for the marketing of agri-food products in order to ensure the safety and food security of the population.
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN GENERAL OBJECTIVES Phase 1 Study on the efficiency of modern agricultural systems, in the context of climate change Phase 2 Design and implementation of the database and related documentation for the digital tool Phase 3 Development and testing of the digital tool Phase 4 – Benchmark guides for agricultural farms for comparing investment scenarios, supporting the assessment of their effect in a given situation General objective: The digital tool resulting from the project will lead to the resolution of problems related to the efficiency of management at the farm level, by creating technical-economic models for the analysis and optimization of production processes that will lead to increased resilience and sustainability of the agricultural sector. In this context, the problems proposed for resolution refer to: identifying climate, economic and social vulnerabilities; design, development and testing of the functionality of the digital tool for streamlining management at the level of research units or other economic forms in the agricultural sector; determination of the profitability of agricultural crops; assessment of the impact of various agricultural policy instruments to support farmers; introduction of new, efficient management methods. Specific objectives: – identification of climatic, economic and social vulnerabilities in a territorial profile; – carrying out studies/analyses on the prospects of agricultural production; – assessment of the stage of computerization of farms at the European level and establishing the software functions that need to be addressed and adapted to agricultural holdings; – design, development, experimentation and demonstration of the functionality of the digital tool for streamlining management at the level of research units or other economic forms in the agricultural sector; – development of information content documentation on the economic – organizational substantiation of technologies and production costs and their optimization; – determination of the profitability of agricultural crops; assessment of the impact of various agricultural policy instruments to support farmers.
EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT The main result of the project is the creation of a digital tool that will allow farmers to optimally manage the resources used in economic activity, by permanently and in detail monitoring them, with the possibility of correcting any problems that arise at any time, so that the use of resources is optimal and profitability is maximized. RESULTS/BENEFITS AND
VALORIZATION/DISSEMINATION SCHEME/PLAN The main result of the project is the creation of a digital tool that will allow farmers to optimally manage the resources used in economic activity, by permanently and in detail monitoring them, with the possibility of correcting any problems that arise at any time, so that the use of resources is optimal and profitability is maximized. The results obtained will be exploited by providing information to farmers, processors, traders, agricultural higher education institutions, line ministries, by organizing workshops, round tables, participation in various symposia or scientific events. Dissemination: Newsletters will be published on the project website that will include the results obtained in each stage. Specialized articles will be published in national and international scientific conferences/symposia in order to present the methods
